Brett Joshpe

Biography
Brett Joshpe graduated from Cornell University, where he majored in Government and received a B.A. with Distinction in All Subjects. He then graduated from Harvard Law School, where received a J.D., and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Finance and received an M.B.A. After law school, he worked at the law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP on corporate transactions and then at the law firm of Wrobel & Schatz LLP. His practice areas include both corporate work and litigation across different industries, including technology, digital media, and financial services. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and has been named a Super Lawyers New York Rising Star from 2014-2020.

Brett also has extensive entrepreneurial experience and most recently led an innovative, award-winning media and technology company in the sports and entertainment industry. He is a published author and has been published in various national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Investor’s Business Daily, The New York Post, and The New York Daily News, among others. He is a CFA Charter Holder and a Certified Blockchain Expert.

Michael Mooney

Biography
Michael Mooney graduated from Kenyon College in 1995 and earned a Master of Business Administration in 1998 and J.D. in 2005, both from The Ohio State University. He began his legal career at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP where he worked primarily on complex mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, he worked on a variety of derivatives transactions, including collateralized debt obligations underwritten by large financial institutions. Subsequently, Mike joined the New York office of Citco Fund Services (USA), Inc., the world’s largest provider of administration services to hedge funds. As Legal Counsel, Mike advised senior management in the New York office and negotiated operative documents with Citco’s hedge fund clients. Currently his practice focuses on all manner of corporate transactions.

He is admitted to the Bars of New York and Ohio. Prior to attending law school, Mike spent seven years in and around the Ohio Statehouse working as both a Legislative Aide in the Ohio Senate and as Director of Legislative Affairs for the Ohio Insurance Institute.

Edward Paltzik

Biography
Edward Paltzik earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and a B.A. from Cornell University College of Arts & Sciences, graduating with Distinction in All Subjects. He is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the District of New Jersey.

Mr. Paltzik has extensive litigation experience involving a wide variety of complex civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts. His advocacy has led to successful outcomes in various high-profile matters, including the Buck Foston’s First Amendment litigation against the City of New Brunswick, NJ and its top officials, FINRA arbitration against a major financial institution, a multi-jurisdictional False Claims Act whistleblower case relating to healthcare fraud, and numerous other civil and criminal matters.

Mr. Paltzik’s practice encompasses constitutional and administrative litigation, highly technical commercial and financial disputes, white-collar criminal defense, whistleblower representation, healthcare compliance, probate litigation, and tort claims ranging from defamation to wrongful death.

Amit Sondhi

Biography
Amit Sondhi is a graduate of Villanova University, where he was a political science and philosophy dual major and graduated cum laude. He then graduated from Boston University Law School, where he received his J.D., and The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he received an M.B.A. Amit’s practice focuses on a wide variety of litigation, corporate, and regulatory matters affecting businesses of all sizes and executives.  Prior to joining Joshpe Mooney Paltzik, he was Of Counsel at the firm of Mintz Gold and an associate at Lowenstein Sandler.  He was also partners with Ira Sorkin at the law firm of Sorkin & Sondhi.  Amit has also served as General Counsel to several proprietary trading firms. Amit brings a unique perspective to the practice of law, and he is known for giving clients practical, business-minded guidance that spans the litigation and transactional divide. He has also been recognized as a Super Lawyers, New York Metro Rising Star from 2016-2019.

Stavros Papadopoulos

Biography
Stavros Papadopoulos is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Electrical Engineering, and Boston University School of Law.  His practice focuses primarily on intellectual property and civil and commercial litigation.  He regularly works with clients of all sizes, from entrepreneurs and start-ups to larger companies, and helps them protect their brands through trademark and copyright filings, as well as provides business and regulatory guidance.  Stavros also brings deep technical expertise to his work at the firm, having worked in high technology as a consultant systems engineer on technology projects for large enterprise and Forbes 500 clients prior to attending law school.  He also collaborated with the Johns Hopkins University Hospital on biomedical engineering research projects. Stavros also has extensive experience in the real estate management business. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and Massachusetts.
